Curtis Granderson’s deal with New Balance transcends the baseball diamond, reaching small and large communities across the country. In addition to New Balance’s support of the All Star outfielder on the field, the brand is a vital part of Curtis Granderson’s Grand Kids Foundation efforts – providing merchandise, equipment and financial support to over a dozen programs a year.
Citi and Curtis Granderson joined forces to come together in support of New York City communities. The long-term partnership began in 2014 and included a Community Home Runs initiative at Citi Field, in which every home run hit at the ballpark resulted in a donation to fight childhood hunger. Together, we’ve raised millions of dollars for community groups in need in the tri-state area.
One of less than 4% of MLB athletes with a four-year degree, Curtis Granderson has been dedicated to supporting his alma mater (UIC) since the day he graduated. In 2012, Granderson made an initial donation of $5 Million to fund the development of Curtis Granderson Stadium. To date, the partnership with UIC includes a state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor complex that hosts the University’s athletics teams as well as opens its doors to over 10,000 inner city youth/groups annually to “play ball”.
Curtis Granderson’s custom Rawlings Pro H Web glove has made countless plays in the outfield – World Series game saving catches, All Star Game appearances and more little league clinics than you can possibly count. The brand has donated over 10,000 gloves to Grand Kids camp programs, putting a glove on the hand of a child and introducing them for the first time to America’s Greatest Pastime.
Whether it’s hitting home runs on the field or in the community, Louisville Slugger plays a part. The iconic baseball brand is a long-time partner of Curtis Granderson of over a decade, including monumental moments such as his 300th career home run. To date, Curtis and Slugger have donated thousands of bats to inner city youth baseball and softball programs.
